WILLIAM DESMOND TAYLOR

From Who's Who on the Screen (1920)

William Desmond Taylor, who has directed Mary Miles Minter in her starring vehicles for Realart, was born in Ireland and educated in England. At the outbreak of the World war, with a sigh of regret at the thought of leaving, perhaps forever, the country of his adoption, Mr. Taylor enlisted as a private in the British army and was soon in active service. Immediately upon receiving his discharge, Mr. Taylor made arrangements to return to America and he has since directed the making of "Huckleberry Finn." He also directed the making of the splendid William Fox production, "North of 53," arid "Tale of Two Cities," likewise Artcraft's "How Could You Jean," "Johanna Enlists," and "Capt. Kidd, Jr.," together with a host of other screen successes.
