| William E. Atkinson, general manager of Metro Pictures Corporation is a
pioneer in the industry. He was born in Cheshire, England and began life
as librarian of the public library in Lancashire, in 1901. Mr. Atkinson
left England and arriving in America, secured various positions with electrical
engineering concerns, his interest at that time being centered in things
mechanical. The opportunities offered in motion picture production attracted
Mr. Atkinson and lie joined the Kinemacolor Co. Mr. Atkinson is time founder
of the Players Lycrum Bureau of New England, which orgainzation today is
highly successfnl. Meeting Mr. Rowland, president, of Metro Pictures Corporation,
the acquaintance led to Mr. Atkinson's affiliation with Metro. |
