| ERICH VON STROHEIM -- ARRIVING in America, after serving as an officer in
the Austrian army, Erich Von Stroheim worked as a riding master. He entered
the theatrical profession in a vaudeville sketch of which he was the author.
Gaining his first screen prominence by his portrayals of German officers,
he turned to direction and has given the motion pictures many fine productions.
He was born September 22, 1885, has light hair, brown eyes, and weighs 130
pounds. Divorced from his first wife, he married Valeria Germondrez in 1920,
and has one son. |
