LOWELL SHERMAN

From Stars of the Photoplay (1924)

LOWELL SHERMAN comes from a theatrical family. His maternal grandmother was Kate Grey, who acted with the elder Booth. His father and mother were professionals and, at the age of three, he was posing in tableaux. However, his real stage debut was at the age of fourteen, when he appeared in a vaudeville sketch. Then he appeared in support of Nance O'Neil, McKee Rankin, and many other well known players. He will be remembered as the villainous Sanderson in Griffith's "Way Down East." He played the King in the Famous Players production, "Monsieur Beaucaire."
