| LOWELL SHERMAN comes from a theatrical family. His maternal grandmother
was Kate Grey, who acted with the elder Booth. His father and mother were
professionals and, at the age of three, he was posing in tableaux. However,
his real stage debut was at the age of fourteen, when he appeared in a vaudeville
sketch. Then he appeared in support of Nance O'Neil, McKee Rankin, and many
other well known players. He will be remembered as the villainous Sanderson
in Griffith's "Way Down East." He played the King in the Famous
Players production, "Monsieur Beaucaire." |
