| THOMAS MEIGHAN broke into the movies via the stage. Secured his first engagement
as an extra in "Mistress Nell," in Pittsburgh, his home town.
Climbed to bigger and better roles and, as the lead in George Ade's "The
College Widow," became a vital figure in the theatre. First role on
the screen was therefore an important one, having served his apprenticeship
on the speaking stage. From leading man to many of the stars, he rose to
stardom. He appeared in "Pied Piper Malone" and "The Confidence
Man." Height, six feet; weight, 170 pounds; black hair, brown eyes.
