IAN KEITH

From Famous Film Folk (1925)

IAN KEITH was born in Boston and received his early education in that city. At the age of eleven, he made his first stage appearance, and then he returned to school, being privately tutored at the same time in Shakespearian repertoire. Later he toured with a Shakespearian company, playing at various times almost every important role of the great poet. It was while playing on the New York stage in that great success, "Laugh, Clown, Laugh" that he made his screen debut, appearing in "Manhandled" in a local studio. Like many others of the stars, Mr. Keith is an enthusiastic golfer, finding in this popular sport the stimulating exercise and relaxation that is necessary to prepare himself for the double work of motion pictures and the stage. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 155 lbs., and has black hair and blue eyes.
