| WILLIAM S. HART was born in Newburgh, N. Y., December 6, 1874. He went on
the stage in 1889 and rapidly forged to the front. He was leading man with
Mme. Modjeska for a time, and has played in many notable productions, including
the original "Ben Hur" cast. He went west in 1914 to play in Ince
pictures and made his screen debut in "The Bargain." Later he
joined Paramount. It was Bill Hart who popularized the western cowboy pictures
and he still leads in these roles. Height, six feet, one inch; weight, 190
pounds. Brown hair and blue eyes. Married and has one son. |
