JAMES HALL ran away from home as a child to play a Hindu beggar boy with a traveling company. His parents insisted he return home, but he was soon behind the footlights again, this time as a newsboy in Everywoman. After the Armistice, having served Over There with a recreation troupe, he made a place for himself in musical comedy. Then Jesse Lasky signed him to a contract. As James Brown, he was born October 22, 1900, in Dallas, Texas, is 5 feet 10, weighs 158, has dark brown hair and blue-green eyes.
