| DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS was born in Denver, Colorado, in May, 1883. It was the
ambition of his parents to see Douglas a mining king, and after graduating
from the Denver High School and Jarvis Military Academy, he was sent to
the School of Mines at Golden, Colorado. Before he had learned very much
about mining, he decided upon a stage career which, in time, became very
successful. His initial photoplay was "The Lamb." His production
of "Robin Hood" won PHOTOPLAY'S 1922 Gold Medal of Honor. Has
one son by his first wife. His second wife is Mary Pickford. |
