| WELL known as a leading man on the stage, Robert Ellis entered pictures
with the old Kalem Company. He was born and educated in New York City. After
some years in the theater and freelancing in Eastern studios, he went to
Hollywood. For several years he handled a directorial megaphone, but was
in such demand as an actor that he had to give up directing. After slipping
to the 'quickies, Ellis came back strongly as Steve Crandall in the Universal
production of Broadway. Ellis married Vera Reynolds, in Paris, in May, 1926. |
