LEW CODY

From Stars of the Photoplay (1924)

LEW CODY, in private life, Lewis Joseph Cote, was born on February 22, 1885, in Waterville, Maine. High praise for a performance in an annual school play at McGill Medical College in Montreal was responsible for Lew's forsaking a career as a doctor for that of an actor. He went to New York where he studied dramatic art. It was while he was touring the West Coast that he made his debut in pictures under Thomas H. Ince. He played the leading role opposite Bessie Barriscale in "Mating." Since then he has appeared in many brilliant successes. He has dark hair and complexion.
