CARLYLE BLACKWELL, was born in Troy, Penn., but early on moved to Syracuse, N.Y. His first efforts were in musical comedy, "The Gay White Way," and several others. Later he joined Vitagraph, and then Kalem, where he built up a reputation as one of the most popular of leading men, his own Favorite Players following Kalem. His latest plays have been Lasky productions opposite Blanche Sweet.
